I have come to understand that there are a lot of opportunities out there for people with math degree and its important for me to choose a career that is best suited for me. This requires me to think about my future and urges me to make plans and objectives/goals. During the summer vaccation I plan to find an part-time job that would sharpen and develop my professional skills and also provide me with exposure of what it actually means to work. This also requires me to put my priorities in order and identify my personal values. My first priority is towards my degree then from there everything is to support my degree. A part-time job will hopefully provide an environment and setting I would encounter when I start working. My assumption is that I will encounter challenges that would prepare me develop my career path. It would probably be best to come up with some personal objectives for part-time job experience so that I can benefit as much as possible from the opportunity that would have presented its self.
Regarding my plans, I have decided to focus my attention on goals that are easier to accomplish (this would be goals that do not require a lot of travelling around or those that need a lot of resource that are not very easy to get hold of) and arrange objectives or goals in order of importance. This would help me to organise them into a simple schedule as I can not attempt all the goals at once. In this way, I would hopefully have ample time to accomplish all my goals. Starting with simple and easier things also seems like a good idea because I would spend least amount of time in those activities. This would also provide motivation to address more challenging objectives.
At the moment, I need to actually be active in achieving my goals. I have set goals, but I have applied little or not enough effort to achieve these goals. Doing, what I had set out myself to do is what I need to do. I suppose, there would not be any benefit from having gone through such trouble of coming up with goals and plans and not do anything about making sure I do my best to achieve such goals. My plan is to put these career development goals into weekly schedule, so that atleast every week I try to achieve something valuable. For other, long and more challenging goals I will have to break them up into smaller ones that would hope be easier to carry out.

WHAT I LEARNT IN SESSION TWO
The MBTI conclusions or deductions about the type of person I am are that, I am INTP (introversion, intuitive, thinking and perceiving). Ofcourse one can not conclude or base the opinion of who they are from answering a couple of questions. I do however appreciate and agree with the MBTI conclusions, and taking such exercise helped me understand or get ideas as to what type of person I am. It is enriching to get to know what type of person one is. This provides a guidance and enlightenment on how I would react in particular conditions. Also, it gives me assurence and confirmation of what I think of myself about some of the things for example, my thought process and point of view of life. MBTI also helped me identify my strengths and wicknesses. I am actually excited to take the challenge of working on my weaknesses and appreciting my strengths and this also kind of gives a signal as to what environment I would prefer or just preferences in general, like what type of job I would probably enjoy, for example: office work or field/practical work.
Learning who I am was a good experience and answering those questions was an experience of discovering who I am and also gave me tools to use for interpersonal skills (i.e. interacting with people). I think it is very important to know and understand how to relate with different types of people, with different believes, backgrounds and personality. The characteristics of perceiving and thinking probably constitute my "Unique Selling Point". I suppose my Unique Selling Point is the approach to solving problems or carry out a task. My strategy is to brainstorm on the problem or task before anything. Then after understanding the problem/task, I have to come up with a plan or a number of solutions. This way, solving a problem or carrying out the task as the approach can be done from different kinds of angles. I suppose its my way of trying to be efficient in the sense that, I think its good to always have options and alternatives before undertaking any activity.
One of my strength would have be the ability to adjust in different conditions. There are always changes in our surroundings, e.g in University or at work and some changes would may be profession-wise and I am hopefully are would be ready for any changes. I believe its important to always be ready for anything and I think my thought and idea of the fact that things can always go wrong and despite what one is doing there is a possibility of things going wrong or not working out the way I wanted.

REFLECTIONS ON INITIAL SKILLS AUDIT
First of all, results of the skills audit were very satisfactory. The experience of undertaking Unit 1 was a wonderful one, as it was a platform for looking back at my achievements, limitations and experiences. Also it served me as a set point (or basis) for future plans, aspirations and goals. While completing the unit, I had to think of what I have achieved so far, and I have to admit looking back at my life as a whole and not just academic or 'career-wise' aspect proved to be very influencial or life changing. I think it is a very powerful tool that someone can use for personal development in alsmost all aspects of their life, from professional to social and even to a personal level.
From the assement, I have gathered that specificity is very important. This is more clear in the examples part or descriptions. One has to pick out critical information or details that would give the reader the exact details the writter is attempting to convey. This requires me to be analytical and very critical on whatever I have to write. Another important aspect is summary skills. Completing the unit reuired me to be brief and straight to the point. I assume this is of great importance because at the end, the content is all that matters but also length of the information. Both of the point boils down to focus, that is, I should be focused when writting anything. The sentences should be coherent and centered or anchored around one or two point(s).
One of the key points I came across while completing the unit, was thinking skills. After completing the unit, I now appreciate the importance of thinking before writting anything. Thinking in terms of content, length details and phrasing. I think its helps with efficiency, and it can be improved by brainstorming and making a draft before writting the final piece.
I plan on to continue with the blog even after completion of Maths talent academy. This should help develop skills metioned above and also it will helpful and a very important life skill. Reviews would also be of great help as reviewers would hopefully give an unbiased non-critisizing feedback. Then, going through the reviews would help my writting and communication skills. This is important because, as stated ealier it helps with personal development. Also I believe the skills acquired from this exercises would greatly benefit me and be useful to my entire life.
